Short look at Vaasa

Then we finally arrived in Vaasa and its time to check out the place. Vaasa is a small town by the sea in Finland. So it didn’t take long for us to walk to the sea. The center is very small and simple, but give a nice feeling. Everything in Finland is usually like that, nice in all ways and very simple. It´s also quit few people there, you never end up in a busy street where you get walked over.

Vaasa have some stores and clubs, but I have to admit. From a tourist point of view, its not much to do in Vaasa, but it have a very good student reputation.

I have to admit it was a bit nice to relax in Vaasa, but I was also longing home. So we staid just for a couple of days then we left for Norway again. I was so eager to get home that I drove the little car for almost 8 hours straight, just to get home to Norway from Finland in one day. Nice place Finland, but I think Norway is better 😉

Flatpack day

We left Turku early, tried to get a head start on the day. It is so easy to drive in Finland. You fast experience that Finland and Sweden have much better roads then Norway. The speed limit is much higher too. But the finish drivers are crazy, I think I drive fast and then some guy comes flying past me and disappear in front of me. Crazy…

Well when we came to Tampere we went to Ikea to buy some stuff to Dave´s new place in Vaasa. We stocked up the car with as much stuff as possible. After that we realized that  we maybe wouldn’t be able to make it to Vaasa before the office that had Dave´s key would close. So the race began.

We jumped in to the car and drove as fast as possible through Finland. Most of the way was high ways in middle of no where, so that was good. The car got a hard trip there, but thankfully me managed to get to the office minuted before it closed. I was really glad we didn´t have to sleep on the streets for a night.

Then we came to Dave´s one room apartment with no bed and carried everything we had in to the house. What a mess of a day, but it was fun and exhausting, so the rest of the day went on to relax.

The Roadtrip

Hello again. I have now moved away from London and this time I will bring you on my first ever road trip all by myself with Dave. We travelled from Oslo to Vaasa in Finland in my grandmothers tiny car. A awful car to drive, but we ended up loving it ❤

We started as early in the morning as we cud and drove from my house in Oslo. Since I was the only one with license I had to drive all the way. It was sunny and beautiful and we got our GPS that showed us the way to Sweden. Our first stop was by a beautiful lake out in nowhere. The GPS had led us out on a dirt road in the middle of the forest and here we stopped by the lake to enjoy the view. After a little rest we drove away from the silent and stress free forest and out on the motor way.

The next stop was at a McDonalds in Karlstad, on the border between Norway and Sweden. It is always difficult to go of track with a GPS so it tock us a while to figure out how to get to the McDonalds, but in the end we got our burger and the car had a chance to cool down a little bit. Poor old thing.

After filling up with gas we realist that we would end up coming very late to Stockholm if we didn´t move alone fast. So it was no more breaks before we arrived in Stockholm. We slept in a tent in the garden of a Swedish friend of Dave. She was really nice and the weather was good enough to sleep outside with no problems. A nice night sleep absolutely. But then again I was so tired after all that driving that I cud have fallen a sleep anywhere by then.
